Things to Know
After the installation of your Blair Water Conditioning system, you will find that you will save on other household costs aside from your water, sewer and operational costs of the conventional water conditioning system. Here are just a few fact saving tips:
CLEANING PRODUCTS
Since there is virtually no calcium/hard water build up and there is less scrubbing and scouring sinks and showers, you use less cleaning products.
Laundry Products: Drops instead of cups (Example: Laundry - Try 1 tablespoon instead of 1 cup of liquid detergent)
NOTE: For the first 2-3 loads of laundry washed with conditioned water, do not use bleach or fabric softner.
Dishwashers: Fill 1/3 of the FIRST COMPARTMENT ONLY!
Dishes in Sink: Use considerably less detergent then you would normally use.
BEAUTY PRODUCTS
Shampoos and Conditioners: Only necessary to use an amount about the size of a dime. Some consumers reported not having to use cream rinses or conditioners after installing conditioned water.
Lotions: Since your skin is no longer being damaged by the hard water you find that your skin will not need frequent applications of lotions or creams.
POOLS
When filling your pool MAKE SURE that you have bypassed the system. Allowing CONDITIONED water to mix with the hard water throws off the PH balance of the water and can affect the pool marcite coating. Ask your water condition route specialist what steps need to be taken to bypass the system.
OUTDOOR PLANTS
Although conditioned water is better for humans, it is not always the best for the plants since many of the minerals the plants need to thrive are taken out of conditioned water. In most cases at least one outside water source (faucet) is not connected to the system for this purpose.
CARS AND BOATS
Conditioned water is one of the best products to wash your car or boat with. Since it does not have the minerals that hard water contains it keeps that "like new" look on your vehicle with very little effort from you.
